What SOIT is
SOIT is a private chauffeur service in Tbilisi, Georgia. It provides a car and a driver: airport transfers, days out of the city, and journeys across the country that take several days. It is not a tour company and provides no guides; a guide is a separate booking.
There are a few hundred transfers behind it. Most of the people SOIT drives arrive by air, and many of them come from Dubai and the UAE.
The four cars
A Mercedes-Maybach S-Class W223 and a Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680, each for up to three guests; a Mercedes-Benz S-Class for up to three; and a Mercedes-Benz V-Class for up to seven. The fleet page has photographs and the rates of each car.
How the fares work
The rates are published and priced per car, not per seat. An airport transfer is a fixed fare: 350 ₾ in the V-Class, 500 ₾ in the S-Class, 750 ₾ in either Maybach. Hourly hire has a three-hour minimum, at 200 ₾ an hour in the V-Class or the S-Class and 300 ₾ in either Maybach. A full day, eight to nine hours with one driver, door to door, is 1 350 ₾, 1 500 ₾ or 2 500 ₾, and an extra hour is 135, 150 or 250 ₾.
A trip that goes out and comes back in a day, to Kazbegi, Kakheti, Bakuriani or Batumi, is priced at the day rate, and a longer day is quoted with the extra hours already included. Trips too long for one day, such as Mestia and Svaneti, are quoted as multi-day bookings, in writing, in advance. Weddings are priced per wedding.
Every fare is confirmed in writing before the car is dispatched.
Borders
Border runs, to Armenia at Sadakhlo or to Turkey at Vale, are not a standing service: ask, and the answer comes back in writing. SOIT does not run the Larsi crossing.
