A Georgia trip from Dubai is a short flight to a country on the same clock, and the planning questions have exact answers: who needs a visa, how long the flight is from Dubai, Sharjah or Abu Dhabi, what a three-day or five-day stay costs, and when to come.
Many of SOIT’s guests come from Dubai and the UAE. This is the checklist, in order.

Do UAE residents need a visa for Georgia
Three cases, and the passport decides.
A UAE citizen needs no visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs list of visa-free countries gives the United Arab Emirates a maximum stay of “Full 1 (one) year”, as it does Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
A UAE resident on another passport needs no visa either. The ministry’s second list says holders of valid visas or residence permits of the listed countries “may enter and stay in Georgia for 90 days in any 180 day period without Georgian visa”, and the United Arab Emirates is on it. The permit “should be valid at the moment of crossing the Georgian border”, so check a permit in renewal before buying the ticket.
Most other travellers need a visa; for a short stay the ministry points to Georgia’s e-visa portal, whose FAQ puts the fee at “20 USD + 2% service fee”, a decision in not less than five working days, and every traveller, whatever their age, on a separate application. The Gulf and India market piece covers the Indian passport, which has an extra verification step.
Dubai to Tbilisi flight time, and the other two airports
Tbilisi airport’s own route map lists three direct routes from the UAE: flydubai from Dubai, Air Arabia from Sharjah and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi from Abu Dhabi. Air Arabia’s Georgia page puts the direct flights from Dubai and Sharjah at under four hours. The map mixes scheduled and unscheduled flights.
There is no time difference. In the IANA time zone database, Asia/Dubai and Asia/Tbilisi both sit at UTC+4 with no daylight-saving rule.
Batumi, on the Black Sea, has its own flydubai flight from Dubai on the Batumi airport route map; for a coastal trip it is the door, as the Batumi arrivals piece explains. For Tbilisi, Kakheti and the mountains, fly to Tbilisi; choosing between the Georgian airports sets out the trade.
A Georgia trip from Dubai, priced: the package and the per-car version
A Georgia tour package from Dubai bundles the flight, the hotel, a guide and a car, priced per person. SOIT sells none of that: it is not a tour company, there is no guide (a guide is a separate booking), and the car is priced per car, not per seat. Subtract the flights and the hotel from a package price and what is left is the car and the guide.
Here is what the car costs at our published rates. The airport transfer is a fixed fare each way: 350 ₾ in the seven-seat V-Class, 500 ₾ in the S-Class, 750 ₾ in either Maybach. A day out, Kazbegi or Kakheti, is eight to nine hours with one driver, door to door: 1 350 ₾, 1 500 ₾ or 2 500 ₾. Those are the fares on the airport transfer page and day trips from Tbilisi.
A 3-day trip to Georgia from Dubai, arriving one morning, one full day out and a flight home on the third, is two transfers and one day: 2 050 ₾ in the V-Class, 2 500 ₾ in the S-Class, 4 000 ₾ in a Maybach, for the whole car.
A 5-day package from Dubai, done yourself, is two transfers and three days out, say Kazbegi, Kakheti and a second mountain or wine day: 4 750 ₾ in the V-Class, 5 500 ₾ in the S-Class, 9 000 ₾ in a Maybach. For a family of six in the V-Class that is under 800 ₾ a head for five days of driving; a couple in the S-Class pays 5 500 ₾ between them.
The family car is the V-Class, which seats seven; the S-Class and both Maybachs take three, and when four travellers tip the choice explains the luggage arithmetic. A long day is quoted with the extra hours already included, at 135, 150 or 250 ₾ an hour, and every fare is confirmed in writing before the car is dispatched; Tbilisi to Kazbegi by car has that day hour by hour.
The cheaper ways, which are often right
For a couple with hand luggage landing in daylight, none of the above is necessary. Bus 337 runs from the airport to Station Square for 1 ₾, between 06:59 and 22:59 on the airport’s timetable. The taxi rank outside arrivals works around the clock at a fixed 40 ₾ to the city centre. Ride-hail apps are cheap in town and thin at 2am, as the airport ride-hail piece sets out; install one before flying.
For the days out, marshrutkas and shared taxis leave Didube station for Kazbegi, and the train crosses to Batumi in about four hours, which the Tbilisi to Batumi comparison rates above the car for a couple with light bags. What a Tbilisi airport transfer actually buys is honest about the gap: a fixed fare agreed in writing before the flight is the same at 2am as at 2pm. A family of six with a week’s luggage at that hour is the booking. A couple at 2pm is not.
When to visit Georgia from Dubai
The best time to visit Georgia from Dubai depends on what the trip is for. July and August in Dubai have a mean daily maximum of 40.6 °C and 40.4 °C on the World Meteorological Organization’s climate page for Dubai. Tbilisi is cooler, but it is not cool: Georgia’s tourism administration says summer temperatures in the city reach 35 to 37 °C, and Tskneti, the village above it at 800 to 1,100 metres, averages 20 °C in July.
So a summer escape from the Gulf is built around altitude. The state lift operator puts Gudauri at 2,200 metres, and Stepantsminda, the Kazbegi town, is “always a little chilly, especially at night” on GNTA’s Kazbegi page, 2 hours 55 minutes from Tbilisi. In winter the same road is the ski transfer: last season Gudauri’s lifts ran until 19 April, and Tbilisi airport to Gudauri explains why the landing hour decides that drive. For the city and for Kakheti, May, June, September and October are the months, and a week built around one half of the country is in the seven-day itinerary.
What changed in 2026
Two things, and neither is a reason not to come.
Fewer Gulf visitors came in the first half. GNTA’s overview for January to June 2026 counts 26,397 visits from the Gulf countries, 44 percent below the same period of 2025, and attributes the fall “to the ongoing conflict in the region, which has resulted in significant disruptions and restrictions to air travel”. Georgia’s tourist visits as a whole were up 0.1 percent. Check the airline’s schedule for the dates before anything else is booked.
And since 1 January 2026 every tourist entering Georgia needs health and accident insurance. The ministry’s entry rules set the cover at no less than 30 000 ₾, for the whole stay including arrival and departure dates, from a Georgian or a foreign insurer, on paper or electronic, in Georgian or English. Visa-free entry is not an exemption. The business-trip checklist covers the same rule from the booker’s side.
Send the flight number, the number of guests, the hotel’s name and street address, and the days you want out of the city to booking@soitblack.com, and the fare comes back in writing before any car is dispatched.
