The hardest itinerary slot is three hours in the middle of a business day. Long enough to need filling, short enough to ruin if you commit to a tour. Most business travellers default to the hotel lobby and a phone call. That is a waste.
Tbilisi has a few good answers for this exact window. Here are three, with the configuration that gives you 2 hours and 45 minutes of useful time and lets the chauffeur deliver the guest to meeting two at 4:55pm.
Option 1: the Old Town walk
A 90-minute walking loop along the old-town spine. Start at Meidan Square, work up Sharden Street and Erekle II, cross to Sioni Cathedral, finish at the Bridge of Peace. The chauffeur drops at Meidan and meets at the bridge. Slow and quiet midweek, busy on weekends.
What to skip: the funicular to Mtatsminda. It’s a 25-minute round trip on the ride alone, and the view at the top is the same view as the rooftop terrace at any Sololaki cafe with no climb. Skip.
What is worth flagging: the carpet shops on Erekle II Street are real. If your guest is the kind who buys textiles, allow an hour, not 20 minutes. The good ones do not price-game tourists, but they expect a conversation.
Option 2: Abanotubani, the sulfur baths
The historic Old Town bath district. Brick-domed buildings, sulfur-warm water (44 to 46°C in the private rooms), private bookings by the hour. A private bath plus the optional 30-minute scrub is around 80 to 120 GEL per person, depending on which bathhouse and time of day.
This is the option for a guest with three hours, no meeting in formal attire after, and a body that has been in airports for two days. The water is genuinely restorative. The brick walls absorb 600 years of the same use.
Two notes for concierges. First, the sulfur smell stays on hair for about six hours; warn the guest if their next meeting is sensitive. Second, the private rooms book one to two days ahead in season (May to September); walk-ins are a coin flip.

Option 3: the Stamba and Vinotel courtyards
For a guest who wants coffee and quiet rather than walking, the courtyard between Stamba Hotel and Rooms Hotel Tbilisi is the option. Two restored industrial buildings, a small bookshop, a working coffee bar, a few people. Sit for 90 minutes, read, take a call. The internet works.
This is the right choice when the guest is tired, has work to do, and just needs to not be in the meeting hotel’s lobby. Stamba Bar serves espresso properly and a small lunch menu, and the staff understand that a guest sitting alone with a laptop is not waiting to be upsold.
A useful alternative: Vinotel, two streets over, has a wine cellar bar that opens at 4pm. If the guest is willing to start the next meeting with one glass already in, the Vinotel courtyard is the move; the bar staff know the Kakheti producers personally.
The combination, if your guest wants it
Tightest version: car to Meidan at 2pm, walking loop to the Bridge of Peace by 3:15pm, the chauffeur is already there, into the car to Abanotubani for a 60-minute private bath at 3:30, out at 4:30 in fresh clothes, at the 5pm meeting on time. Tight, achievable, depends on the bath being pre-booked.
We coordinate the timing. From your side, the brief is: window 2pm to 5pm, meeting locations at start and end, guest’s preference between walk-only / bath-only / both. We pick the route.
What we skip from the tourist circuit
The Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba). It is impressive, but it is a 25-minute car drive across the city and back, and the inside is closed to non-Orthodox during many afternoons. Not a three-hour window destination.
The Open-Air Ethnographic Museum. Twenty minutes too far, requires two and a half hours minimum on site. Save it for a different visit.
Mtatsminda Park. Forty minutes by car or 35 by funicular round-trip. A guest at the top has no time to enjoy it; a guest who tries spends the third hour in the car coming down.
A short closing note
The three-hour afternoon is more useful than its reputation. The hotel lobby is the default; one of the above is the better default. A guest with eight hours rather than three is a different piece entirely.
